Running a good business is definitely about customer service, honesty, offering the best service for the best price, and having a good product. However, here at Good Works Auto Repair, we like to go above and beyond for our customers and community. Community service is a huge part of why our customers trust us and keep coming back.
One program that we happily support is Packages From Home. This is a program that was started in 2004 by the mother of a man in the military. She sent him a package at least once a month to where he was stationed overseas. It was a care package filled with foods he liked, toiletries he needed, and some recreational items to keep him busy while off duty. He enjoyed receiving these packages so much that he asked his mother if maybe she could provide some for other soldiers who needed things as well.
Well, word got around and this program has expanded to include as many soldiers as possible who are deployed. Since March of 2005, the program averages between 1,000 and 1,500 packages per month. The point is to provide food, personal care items, and recreational items at no cost to the soldier – along with a little care and support from back home. In their mission, Packages From Home states that their point is to “provide care and comfort packages… as well as to facilitate activities that elevate morale of all veterans”. They send everything from nail clippers and tweezers, to flags for flag football and volleyballs.
Good Works Auto Repair supports this cause because we appreciate our freedom – and the cost that is being paid to preserve it. Next time you come in for an oil change, won’t you bring something for our troops? Click here for a coupon that will even return the favor to you.
